Organisation Outline:
The firm’s Paris office concentrates his practice on the regulatory, transactional, and litigation aspects of French and European environmental law.

W&S Paris counsels clients on the applicability of various national and European environmental law requirements, particularly in connection with the
siting and permitting of manufacturing facilities. W&S advises clients as purchasers, sellers, or lenders on the environmental aspects of European transactions,
including identification of environmental issues and potential risks through performance of audits, and allocation of such risks among the parties in real
estate and corporate transactions. In addition, W&S Paris represents clients in the negotiation of remediation programs and voluntary cleanup of contaminated sites with national and local
authorities, and has litigation experience before French civil, criminal, and administrative courts in connection with environmental law issues. W&S representative in Paris is Mr. Vincent Sol. He is a member of the Committee on Environmental Law of the MEDEF (French Manufacturers’ Association). In
1998, the French government appointed Mr. Sol a member of the High Council for Regulated Facilities (CSIC), which advises the Ministry of the Environment on
all proposed environmental regulations. He is the first lawyer to be selected as a Council member. In 2002, under an order by the French Minister of the Environment,
Mr. Sol was appointed chairman of the 24-member Experts Group on Polluted Sites, which provides the Ministry with recommendations on the implementation of
the legislation and propose draft regulations in the field of polluted soils. He also is an associate professor of environmental law for the postgraduate program
at the University of Paris VIII.
